Pivot Back
***NEW SIZING STANDARD for #22 (see info below)
Pivot Back - 20 pieces
Pivot Back - 1 GR (144)
Pivot Back - 5 GR (720)
Also known as a two-piece raised pivot back (except for our #24, which is a one-piece raised), or twin pivot.  Popular for shoes, caps, drapery applications, apparel, custom truck and auto interiors, and crafts.  Optional detached tack holds finished button firmly in placeŚwill not separate under normal conditions.  Combine with a pivot tack back to create double-sided buttons (buttons need not be the same size).  Rust-resistant finish.

We suggest 3/8" as the standard tack length for many applications but stress the importance of using the correct length for your project.
Attempting to use too short a tack can force the button to pull away from it; too long a tack will dent the shell.
We now offer a limited selection of one-piece flat pivot backs for baseball caps, mortar boards, and any application that calls for flat tack-type buttons.  Currently stocked in #22
*** SEE BELOW, #30, and #50 but we will consider other sizes if there is enough interest.

Button shells (fronts) sold separately.
Fits all American standard dies.  Also fits Rowley button dies when paired with low wall shells, either aluminum or rust-resistant.

Use a nail driving tool for trouble-free installation of finished pivot back buttons Śnot essential, but very useful..

*** Before you use your #22 flat pivot backs...  PLEASE READ!!!

Unmodified Wade and Osborne #22 button dies have inside diameters that are slightly smaller than standard, meaning backs from other factories (like #22 flat pivots) tend not to fit.  Most other American dies work just as they are.  Wade and Osborne dies must be modified to fit this size.  We once offered this as a complimentary service but rising machining costs no longer permit it.  Please contact us for details.
