Hardened steel piston (or plunger, also called a "ram") improves the action of old machines. Threaded end matches button plate and threaded dies. Appearance may vary from image depending on stock. The E-clip fastener (also called a lock ring, E-ring, or spring washer clip) fits inside the horizontal pin groove and secures the spring. Also sold as part of a kit. Compatible with the following machines:

Osborne screw-type dies (grommet, snap, etc.) are too big for Handy bases. Die shanks MUST be turned to a smaller diameter (Osborne button dies are fine). When ordering a screw-type die, let us know in the "Optional Modifications" section if you have a Handy machine —we will decrease the diameter for a fee (you may also do this yourself; please call for specifics). Alternatively, you can increase the base hole of your Handy machine to match the new shank diameters.

Does not fit Handy Jr. #20 machines.
